Was born in Chapai Nawabganj, Rajshahi , Bangladesh on 2nd February 1949. He obtained his B.Sc.(Hons.) and M.Sc. in Chemistry in 1970 and 1971 respectively from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh . He obtained B.Ed and M.Ed in science Education from the University of Dhaka in 1974 and 1977 respectively. He received Post-Graduate degree in Petroleum Refinary and Petrochemical Industry and Ph.D. in Physical chemistry in 1979 and 1982 respectively from Institute of Petroleum and Gas, Romania . He joined the Department of Chemistry, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, BUET, Dhaka. Bangladesh in 1974. He became Asstt. Professor , Associate Professor and Professor in 1982, 1986 and 1993 respectively. He has been working in the field of Polymer Composite conducting Polymers and solution Chemistry since 1982. He has supervised so far 8 M.Phil. students. He has published about 32 papers in national and international journals. He is an author of 5 books on Chemistry.
